'Weekly Word' August 25th-August 31st

Thank you for being a supporter of abmbworkouts.com. I don't name drop unless I tell the person I'm going to mention their name so with that being said I want to say big up to my barber for putting me on this Chapter from a general conversation we had. I told you I had to use it for my 'Weekly Word' after that!

The Weekly Word includes 3 elements.

1. My ‘Why’ behind the Verse chosen

2. How it relates to me personally throughout life in general and an exercising stand point.

3. An option for YOU to reflect in the same way I do whether you want to speak on both life and exercise or life by itself. The choice is always yours!

The ‘Why’ behind this weeks Verse:

Jesus just want’s the best for us and He wants our minds at ease through trusting in Him. Thank You Father for making the process to connect with You so easy , I couldn’t walk through Life without You.

How It Relates to My Life:

You know in life we all get hurdles. We face one and move on with faith preparing to face and leap over the next with faith as the strength under our legs. The Lord will see us through anything. Let me tell you what happened when I was facing my toughest hurdle to date , I sat there at the barbershop and began to reflect on what was troubling me. While I was reflecting and wondering about the situation I looked over to the left where my barber has a shelf full of CD’s. There were 12 music CD’s piled under this one DVD on top that read “Jesus” followed by “A Reminder of who’s always in charge”. It was a T.D. Jakes DVD and those were the main two sets of words that stood out to me on the cover. Would you believe that just a few minutes later in the same setting I received a phone call update with positive reinforcement on the very hurdle that was troubling me! It took such a heavy load off of my shoulders once I heard the updated news from the person who called.  Even prior to that I rested my cares on Jesus and let Him know that I’m trusting Him & it’s in His hands. Ever since I gave it to Him my spirit / feelings have been at such an unexplainable peace. He really did say his burden is light as in He doesn’t expect much from you aside from trusting in him in order to receive that “rest” which in my situation was peace of mind. Although I was weary , I am now stronger than ever. Thank you Jesus and I pray this message was right on time for you as well , either way you will come across a day or think back on a day when it directly resonates with you. Jesus just want’s the best for us and He wants our minds at ease through trusting in Him. Thank You Father for making the process to connect with You so easy , I couldn’t walk through life without You.

How It Relates to My Workouts:

Before I give this part of the reflection I want to say this happened years ago when I was 19 years old which means it was way before I became a certified fitness professional and if you currently bench press or plan on beginning bench pressing then don’t ever, ever, ever , ever....ever, ever bench press without a spotter lol. Seriously though I’m only speaking on this to teach a lesson on how Christ’s strength is real and how he gives us sense so moments like this don’t occur. Now that I got that out of the way let me explain the story. A while back I ignored my judgement and decided to perform an incline bench press by myself with no one around. I got 3 clean reps in then when I went for the 4th rep the bar got stuck on my chest and I wasn’t able to press it up. I was frozen with those hundreds of pounds of weight all on my chest. I thought and said to myself “JESUS!” and on that inclined angle He gave me the strength to throw the entire bar down on that inclined angle toward the ground to alleviate my body from that harmful pressure! Since I wasn’t able to press it up , He still gave me the strength to throw it off of myself on that particular angle. He spared me and literally took that burden off of me and allowed me to sit there to rest peacefully and immediately count that as a blessing in my life. Thank You Lord for sparing me that day.

Thanks for reading & I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughts / reflection on how this Verse directly impacts you currently or impacted you in the past. So, be sure to reply below !
