The Weekly Word includes 3 elements.
1. My ‘Why’ behind the Verse chosen
2. How it relates to me personally throughout life in general and an exercising stand point.
3. An option for YOU to reflect in the same way I do whether you want to speak on both life and exercise or life by itself. The choice is always yours!
The ‘Why’ behind this weeks Verse:
I attended another "Unity One" concert last night and I was moved. Here's some more information about them if you're curious: unifiedbyone.com
How It Relates to My Life:
This time for the Weekly Word , I want to do something different. We are all united by Christ so I would like to share someone else’s public testimony from a concert event I attended this weekend. So, every year this group called “Unity One” hosts a gospel concert. This year I noticed how one gentleman looked familiar but in the back of my mind it was something different about him. He was one of the artists in the group and a few minutes into his performance he began to share his testimony. He was saying how around this same time last year he was on stage out of breath ignoring how sick and fatigued he had been feeling for months. Then he paused for a second and followed up with these words “I am now standing in a spot on this stage where I was forced to sit down on a chair at last year, I went to the doctor around that time and my blood pressure was 225 over 120”. I want to interrupt briefly just to let y’all know even results of 140 over 90 are considered amongst the higher readings of hypertension (high blood pressure). So he was at 225 over 120! That’s beyond chronic. Then he continued to say “The doctors were wondering how I was still walking around, they told me my heart was only functioning at 20%. “ He said he knew at that point that it was purely by the grace of God. He then moved around and spoke with enthusiasm “I am not only walking with ease now, I’m grooving! (He began to dance), my stomach used to be past my feet but not anymore!” After going through all that he’s still here! It just shows us that if God wants us here then He keeps us here and if God wants to call us then He will call us. If you’re reading this He still has you here for a reason so we should do our best to show Him how we appreciate His grace by investing into our health. That man made a decision to take his health more serious once God gave him another chance. When doctors told him he should’ve been dead, he still walked around for months. Although he suffered , spending time in the hospital for 10 days even to the point he couldn’t make his Thanksgiving family dinner, God still restored Him! So , again if you are here God still wants you here and He will keep you. It’s best to make sure you are the best version of yourself as appreciation of His mercy for allowing you to breathe and see another day. On the other hand if you are a Christian or even aspiring genuinely in your heart to become one, when he does call you , you know where you’ll be going. So it’s a win-win, take care of your body while you’re on earth to be the best version of you that you can be and then see Him in Heaven once your time here is over with. You can’t lose.
How It Relates to My Workouts:
I will continue to exercise the rest of my life until God see's fit to call me up. It's nothing like this lifestyle once you lock in on it.
